Personal Introduction

Danting, born in Yunnan’s Bai minority, started filmmaking at 17. Her video Behavioural Exposure was in the 2014 Shanghai Biennale, and she animated for Disney Research China in 2015. Based in Berlin (2016–2024), she created shorts screened at major festivals like Pan African Film Fest and Toronto Black Film Fest. In 2024, she moved to Los Angeles as an AFI Directing Fellow, focusing on themes like women, family, and social issues.
